meiosis and heredity intro

We started into the last part of this unit which is sexual reproduction and meiosis.  In order to understand this there are many new terms that we need to get under out belt and today we spent most of the time doing that.  We began with the following daily questions

Sexually reproducing organisms contain TWO of every chromosome which are referred to as homologous chromosomes - here was some more info on those:
A Good resource to check out if you were absent is the following youtube clip.  He goes into a nice description of what haploid and diploid cells are and then into meiosis which we will start into tomorrow.
